Blue sky, chilly (not as bad as Ashland when I left!!!), waters in PERFECT shape for steelheading. Only fished for a short while yesterday pm as I didn't want to go through all the trouble to put waders on, etc.
Also had to hit a store for 'supplies' ... guess who was wrong about having food on board for Sandy. Unacceptable idea for him. Warming up a bit out side now (mid 30's) so a quick shower, proper clothing and off we go!!

Hooked one, or rather he/she fowl hook (fin) one the first evening .. nothing last night. Had to zip back to Ashland to take care of some "no sweat, I'll put up your exterior Christ's Mass lights" for the ladies.
When I left Brookings at 8am it was in the high 40's and moving to the mid 50's for the day (light rain); got to Ashland about 3 hours later ... 33.1 degress in a light rain.

Greetings again from the 'fishing bunker' on the banks of the Chetco. Fishing conditions couldn't be better ... just a lack of fish. Even the 'locals' are shaking their heads.
Lot of casting, but yesterday we finally found a pod of fish up at Nook Bar. Even a village idiot would know where 'they would be holding' ... assuming they were.
And they were. 6 hook ups, 5 steelhead (all 6-9'ish pounds) and of all things: a small jack salmon. Perfect size for the oven in the MH of off he went for dinner.

Pic's I can do .. it's the posting part that still escapes my limited 'teckie' knowledge. Simple I understand .. but I need someone holding my hand for the first go-round. (Ya, in that area, I'm dumber than a stump!!)

Well if you email them to me I can do it, yes it has a number of techie steps but it takes just a few minutes have to open a photo bucket account upload the pictures you want from your PC to your album on photo bucket, then copy the address of the photo on photo bucket in the properties tab into the image address box that you select in the thread you want to post it in.
Send them to my home email address which you have.
Pictures of any 20 lb* steelhead should not be sent I don't want to see them as I know I will never see one on the end of my line in my lifetime, a very sad thought indeed.

Nice job Fred, we are running out of places for the fish to hide with the water so low here. download your pictures to your computer, then when you preview your reply you can attach the picture ,just hit the browse, select the file (picture) it's much easier than the method described above.

Ok, ok, ok .. I'll start 'dragging my camera' around with me (it is in the motor home). First (early problem) I had was the cord from the camera to the computer "went south." Like who would know?? Used Joan's for the next try and got them into the computer.
In Ashland for a couple of days (THE Neighborhood Party) tomorrow PM. A 'little deal' I dreamed up: a 'progressive wine party.' 4 homes at an hour each with lots of munchies, conversation, et. al. Only interesting part was getting folks to actually 'move' to the next house. :>)

A " progressive wine party" now I have heard it all but it figures, its too cold and snowy here to do that everyone would get sick !

Hal, it's a scream and everyone has a great time. As noted, each of the houses will 'feature' a type of wine (everyone contributes a bottle to one or more of the 'venues') First stop is usually Italian Reds (one of the neighbors is a distributor and gets his hands on stuff you'd only read about), next will be a white, third ... actually can't remember, the last is 'bubbly.'
