Not exactly red hot but I did get one little football shaped BM about 7 pounds on a hotspot/glo green Coyote. Fished by myself, launched at Everett 7:00. Fished the Racetrack first and absolutely nothing there, no marks no nothin'. After an hour or so went up to Elger Bay and there were a few. About 5-6 boats. I saw two others taken and I had two other releases on the DR. I have honey do's and Christmas shopping and then maybe some Bog Brats next week or I'd give it another try. Best advice I have, launch at Camino State Park.

Good to hear you got one, nothing wrong with a 7 Lb. this time of year. I wish I was out there.

It was still mostly dark when I was running out. I got about halfway between Hat and Camino Head, the water was dead calm. All of sudden there was this sort of really loud ripping noise. Then I looked at a Seagull and he was walking! I was running through about, I dunno, 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice! Hello! So I went back to the north end of Hat where there was a little breeze and no ice.

I've fished there a lot in the winter and never run into ice. But it makes sense on a calm cold morning.
