I found this partial carcass on the river a couple of days ago.



I can't identify it. These look to me like flight feathers. If so, with the white tips, are they bald eagle?
They are too big to be a grouse (I put my glove by them for size comparison), and I can't think of any other bird with white tipped feathers. The only thing, is do eagles have the barred look to their feathers?
I am confused????

Nav. actually they are tail feathers, and Marty is right (or really close). Either Red Tailed, or Swainson's hawk. Could also be a Harrier.
