Frigin new State of Alaksa regs, non resident licnses and stamps now have $$$ surcharge! the 7 day license is now $55!!!! the year long licnese is $145, plu sking stampps are $30-100 depending on amount of time ya want em for!!!

When I first started in Ak. (1990) a non-res. license cost $35 and covered anything you fished for in the state and allowed you to keep 2 kings a day, everyday of the year, now with the "surcharge" added to the license its $145 for an annual non-res. license, then if you plan on fishing for kings (limit now, 1 a day, 4 for the year) you have to pay $100 for a king salmon stamp.
Did I mention, guides are required to buy a fishing license yet cannot fish with clients on board

The cool thing about living & fishing in Ketchikan is That
Some time around june 10 or close to that date they open the King limit up for 12 kings a day. Still got to have a king stamp.
Most of these fish are coming right in front of my house ( over 100,000 most years)

Just picked up my new lic it was $145 then in August i get to buy a res combo hunting/fishing for another $65 bucks.

Well, as a matter of fact I am required to visit the hospital up in Fairbanks once a year.............. 
But I also have to go down to Ft Irwin in the middle of the desert (at least I should not have to worry about getting shot at in the Mohave Desert though!!)

Don't count on that....when I worked in Death Valley in the early 70's, Charley Manson and his "family" were "neighbors." Lots of wierd $hit goes on in the desert areas....and Mojave is no exception. Never know what type of criminal element you could run into. Remember an off-duty Inyo County Sheriff was taking his family on a camping trip to Panamint Valley...as he approached the site he noticed something peculiar. Turned out it was some black militant group "playing" with automatic weapons and mortors. Needless to say, he and family didn't stay for the 2nd act.
You'll be safer in Alaska.
