This is the latest I have ever found the first matzis. Ussually they pop up at the middle of October. Surprizingly found some good Chanterelles too. usually there soggy by now.

Wow, nice looking shroom.. I havnt hunted for them since I was in high school, I made a fair amount of bucks that way!

Lots of good patches in mason & Kitsap county! I might just have to try and get out to find a few this weekend.

Found about five more pounds of Matzis today. All are buttons. The deer are eating the crap out of these things this year. Coulda woulda shoulda had 20 pounds if it were not for the deer.

Any buyers still in the area? I remember back a few years ago when there would be 3 to 4 buyers just lined up on the road in Belfair. Does anyone still buy these? If not I could always just eat em' !!
