It is a graphite tube that is in place of cork or foam that helps transmit the slightest tap. It is held in place with graphite arbors.

brewer has personally held this new sensor handle last week. it was a different feel... brewer is used to blue foam handles. the none touch of foam or cork was odd. yet i cold see how the there could be more sensetivity in the design.

Geeze steve, ur a lil late, i've been building them things for over a year now, incredible sensitivity increase, i put them on several rods, including a couple lami titanium's, sweet stuff! By the way, the technical name for them is a woven graphite handle!!!

I've had the tube for 3 years just couldn't find a rod I wanted
to put it on.
Tech name yes market name is Senser or Texalium and it comes in new colors.
I have used it in split handle surf rods and on UL and ice rods just never on a steelhead rod.

Southfork, they are bulletproof. Since they are made of the same stuff your rod is, they will flex at the same rate. Great idea, but can be a bit slippery when wet.

If your worried about the cold just put about two or three inches of cork in front of the woven handel and your good to go also works if your worried about it being slipery. This stuff is fantastic for rod holder rods either plugging or plunking you wont ever harm that handel and slides out of the holder like butter especcialy nice when fishing sturg I just love to feel them chow.

Is this post dead I was hopping that after two months I would get some more feed back from these handels let me know who else is using them and how you like um. I have built around 15 of them in the last 5 months. New Arbor system comming in July makes things much easier and cleaner look.

I've built quite a few rods with the woven graphite handles. I really like them on me Kenai plug rods, they stand up to years of rod holder abuse, and egg goo just washes right off. Have built a couple of drift rods with it as well and everyone is amazed at the sensitivity.
