The trophhy taker shakey hunter is the one the majority use,I personally shoot the trophy ridge drop zone and like it alot. Fall aways are great rests easy to dial in and there is no fletch contact. You can't beat the biscuit though for ease in the feild.

Is there any dis-advantages to a fall away?

The only cons I could think of are the moving parts and maybe the chance the cord could break but I think that would be highly un likely. The TR drop zone has a spring that I suppose could freeze or mal functtion but I have had it for 3 seasons and shot probabally 3,000 arrows and have had no probs. The TT is as reliable as your WB.

They can fall at the wrong time and have to be reset. The might not be cool at an inopportune time.

I dont know which rests Jim is talking about but the drop zone and trophy takers can not fall unless you let off on the bow string. These are the only t 2 fallaways I am familiar wiyh though.

My only point was really that the rest can fall. Anything that caused the same type of movement could make the rest fall.

I'm not saying that it is common or has a high likelihood of happening.

I personally have two Trophy Taker Rest and Love them, The Key is that they do need to be set up properly, once set up they are pretty much idiot proof. The fall away rests are more forgiving to shooting form errors than a whisker bisquit rest

Personally I would not use a fall away that does not use a cord on a hunting bow
