i took my good friend today, we got down to the river and i was in to #1 my first cast. we fished down a ways, i lost another and caught another. at this point i started to feel bad, i let him take 3 or 4 casts in every hole fist but he just couldn't hook up. finally we got to a hole and i threw in the top, i saw one chase my bait so i pulled it away, i told him to cast right there, fish on, nice!! after that he got in the groove. we went 11 for 17, i got eight and he got three, he lost four , i lost two. we both had good action and it was a great day. goal was 100, i had a rough early season with all of that high water, i try my best to catch em' all. it is normally not that small, but the water is pretty low, the last week i was waiting for it to rain so i could go there, 3 days ago i thought i would check it out and i could not cast anywhere and not get bit. that was a crazy day. we did walk about 5 miles of river one way today. when the road opens, i will get to fish the lower end of this river and i know it is just kegged with chromers right now, i can't wait. me and my fiance are expecting a kid at the end of this month so i got to get my fishing in soon.

i ran out of bait yesterday so i could not go back to my hot spot, i thought i would go search for a hatchery hen. i got there late because i had to pump some shrimp. i fished a couple hole with no action so i went down river. bingo! second cast fish on. that was a chrome hen. the next couple hours were very action packed. i caught my brat hen and had another on the shore but she took my hook and left without me. i landed 5 and lost 9, a bunch more bites. bobber and bait was my meal ticket today. now that i got some bait i can get back on my nates... here is the prize.

i hope so, this good action can't last 4 ever though. i have hooked more in the last 4 days than i have ever hooked in four days. the nestucca river, the one i fished yesterday, came up a foot last night. im gonna go give it another try today, i would like another hen, then i could sit pretty for the next couple days in the hot spot whacking nates. its getting light, i better hit the road.

That's it, I'm getting an Oregon license. Those waters look like bank maggot heaven. I'm going to fish the coastal lakes and some others around Eugene later this summer anyway.

Looks like alot of fun 365, I've been getting an Ore license every year for summer runs....what part of Or are you fishing, maybe we can hook up. Your photos make your locale remote looking. Father in law lives in Astoria, bro in law lives in Tilly...sounds like a great season, keep up the reports man...they are inspiring!

im a little south of tillamook. and i love summer runs, if you around tilly in the summer i would love to take ya summer fishing. things got tough today, i hooked 3 and landed 1, but she was a hatchery hen so im caught up on bait. i will be back to the hot spot in the next couple of days i hope, this is a great time of year here.

i'm going to try for another brat today, hopefully it is better than yesterday. there was only 2 hooked on the river that i heard of yesterday, mine and a plunker lost one, the water was up a foot from the day before and brown. i will be back with a report tonight.

i started on the wrong river this morning. finally made a move and caught two, then it muddied up. i went up higher and the water was better, one other guy i know was fishing. i got down there and it started blowing about 60 mph and blew a big tree on the other guys truck... game over, called it a day.

im not sure, he did drive it off. that was the worst weather that i have ever tried to fish in. i am going to try some where in a couple hours, looks like the weather improved, hope everything is not blown.

i know a.j. well. there is a much better river right now than the siletz, i got 7 on the nestucca today and started at noon. i fished the shine on thursday and friday and got 6 the first day and 3 the next. my buddy got one today there then met me on the nestucca. i will be there late morning tomorrow on the nestucca.

AJ and i are pretty much set on twin bridge to town. I was up at moonshine sat morning with a bunch of other people, not alot was happening. I cant believe how many db launched at moonshine sat. morning. anyways, good luck. Are you going to the big wedding this summer?

i'm part of the big wedding, i'm a little nervous about the bach party. sounds like you are doing the right thing tomorrow. i thought that you were bank fishing and getting stuck at the park. the boat traffic is rediculous, every where. i would like to hear how you do tomorrow, get on of them big brood stockers.

tell a.j. mike said hi. and don't worry i will make sure that a.j. doesn't drink at the bachelor party... last time i saw a.j. there was alot of drinking and females abusing mine and josh's cell phones. there i stood hung over fishing for summer steelhead and answering my phone trying to explain to everyone why the got x-rated messages on their phones the night before........memories.

We sucked today. should have slept in. Wished id have put him on a fish today, trying to get aj his first steely. We did hear from another guy on the bank that was on the Nestucca yesterday and did well. I cant figure why he didnt go back. We'll put some more effort into it later.

the nestucca produced again today. the siletz has been very hit and miss lately. i have only been in a boat once this year. i like the freedom to move on the bank. well, i was hoping you guys would coon em', thanks for the report and if you want to learn some new water pm me. you would think that i was retired at 22 how i fish. i put my time in and stay on them.
