i waited until about 11 am to leave this morning hoping that it would warm up a bit. i got to the river a little after noon and got a nothing hooked report. the water was off colored and big, i have not been here for about a month so i had no clue what was going on. i got hung up on my second cast, i was trying to free my rig and a fish grabbed it and pulled it out of the snag, first time i have had that happen. that was a small dark buck, i released it and continued fishing.my buddy came from across the river. we fished another couple of hours and i missed 1 more bite, it was dead. it got to cold for him and he left. i fished a little more and drove to the other side of the river. second cast i hooked a hog, i never saw it but it had the slow deliberate upstream battle going for it before the hooks tore out. a couple of casts later i was in to another little dark buck. after i landed that one i rigged a bobber, thats what they wanted, 30 minutes 4 fish landed with 2 chrome hens on the bank with an hour to spare, i know where im going tomorrow.
