i can't believe the quality of hatchery fish that are still around. it seems like they are just getting brighter every day. the water was up today and it was very scratchy but i managed to land 3 and i got this one to take home.

Nice fish 365!
Are you drifting or jigging?
Any springers yet?
You sure catch alot of steel.
Ever fish the salmon river?

thanks, i love to drift fish and that's how i get most of them. no springers but next month i am givin up on the steelhead and going for my first springer of the season. i am very fortunate to fish as much as i do and that is where my numbers come from, if you fish every day you have to get good at catching them. i do fish the salmon river quite a bit. it is a good little steelhead stream and it is where i start for fall chinook, i like to cast k-16 kwikfish sardine wrapped early season before the bobber bite starts up. i feel good that i go back to work for a couple of days tomorrow, i was starting to feel like a bum.

The upper Rogue is still a 'no-show' as far as most folks fishing. Floated from Shady Cove to Takelma Park ... several guide boats ... zero fish, as was with "Snap-T" and myself.

Only one 'old timer' with his grandson (3) saw fish at all (small egg baits). Water is COLD!!! Geez, was it cold, with a brisk north wind blowing down river. First time I've had a down stream wind-river left in ages. That took some MAJOR adjustments to my spey casting ... assuming you didn't want to get wacked on the back side with a 3-4" long Intruder.
