I wonder how that 24 gram Snowbee Scandi head would do on the Snowbee Torridge which is rated for an optimal 20 gram line ?

What do you think Mike

Sorry, not trying to 'hi-jack' the thread here, but what's the difference between a 'Scandi Head' and a 'Skagit Head' system?

Mike send her out no rush, time to line up this Torridge for some serious distance this year, have a huge smallie pool I have to get to the other side on, too deep to wade and reach with a normal spey cast, need that Scandi to Git R Done, as they say.

Thanks

BG

Scandi head is from Scandinavia

Skagit head is from Skagitnavia as they say.

Come on Evans quit playing dumb we know you know everything about spey including skagit and scandi etc..

Quit browsing those video sites too and get on the rivers

Fred raises a valid point.

if you really look at them and what they were designed for your eyebrows would raise.

of course if ew hears that he will throw a fit. just look at spey pages ew and peter sc. that stuff was classic.

Frend once again is the man!!!!!

Humm ... how did he know about "those video sites?" Actually, very few folks (around here) use either a skagit or 'skandi' system. Majority of the beaches on the upper Rogue are 'wide open' without much of a problem forming the biggest "D" or "V" loop you desire.

Actually look back on it I can only think of a couple of folks (J D Jones and "Snap-T") that use the system with any frequency. Personally, when I get into tight casting situations I'll just go to the Perry Poke, snake roll or a circle/snap-t and get on with it.
