anybody out there tried the new st. croix legend ultra spey rods yet?
I'm looking for a new rod and St.Croix has always treated we well.So any opinions on their new rods?

Which model are you looking at. We had some at our spey clave and some cast good while some other were like slugs.
That being said I think just about every two hander made today is a winner with the right line.

I was looking at the 14'8/9 and 15'9/10
I like a heavy weight rod from the bank save the light stuff for creeks
I blew my shoulder out a few years ago and after 3 days on the clearwater last week i'm thinking Spey is the way.
I did hook up 3 times didn't land any,but one was worth the trip managed to hold on to him for a couple of minutes
before he hit the whitewater.

Have not seen or heard much about the new St Croix spey rods and I am out in St Croix GLs country. Spey is the way there are lots of good rods and lines out there you should try a few different ones before you buy, try a test run from Red Shed, best way to go.
