I've both worked and fun fished with some of the best in Westport out of Westport Charters. I also know that iso had a great time on a trip I was supposed to be on out with Randy out of Deep Sea. Do you want a 1 day or a 2 day trip? Both can be awesome, best two day trip I was involved in we had over 200 fish for 8 people. Oregon now has a limit on Tuna while Washington does not.

Albacore fishing in Westport is indeed a blast. If you haven't gone you are in for a real treat. It is by far some of the best fishing I have ever done.
We know most all the charter captains in Westport. Deep Sea's Randy on the Rampage and Mike on the Fury are very good friends of ours and both run albacore trips.
If you ever get to Westport check out the boats and talk to captains and deckhands too. All have their own personalities and style of doing things.
Geoff from Advantage Charters is also a great captain and friend and the boats out of Deep Sea and Westport/Washington Charters are a great bunches too. The Ms Magoo out of Ocean Charters is a strong tuna boat also.
You really can't go wrong fishing with any of these guys. We are a little particular to Deep Sea but the others I mentioned are excellent too.

Gooose...holy moley. You should see my pantry. Tuna up the gazoo. And we still have a ton in the deep freeze to can. We give away so much fish. Yep there is nothing better than fresh albacore, well, except maybe sturgeon.
And thank you for the welcome Musicman. Much appreciated!

Go with Westport or Deep Sea Charters. I deck hand on a couple of family boats out of both offices. If I had my choice I would go on the Fury out of Deep Sea, captain Mike is a great guy and you will catch fish. Last year they had 100 fish days for 5 guys. Everyone done there are good people and as long as the sea isn't to bad it will be a fun time.

Yes, Mike would of course be my first choice too. Hubby is out with him today. Should be in anytime. They had a full boat today and yesterday. Nice trip and easily got all their bass.

I hope your wife is semi-hard core because sleeping on those boats is no summer vacation let me tell you. The fishing is awesome but the ride out and the sleeping conditions flat out suck.

Not trying to discourage you, just letting you know what you are in for. We went this summer and it was memorable to say the least.

Check out my avatar!

Kong, that's exactly why I haven't gone out for tuna. I've wanted to do so for years, but I'm just not willing to put up with the discomforts and potential sea sickness associated with the long trips. I hear that catching them is a hoot, and I sure like fresh tuna, but I'll have to pass.

She is a trooper and she loves to fish. She has been out on the salt twice with no sea sickness yet. That avatar is cool was that off WA or OR. She has caught all kinds of fish and her first steelie this past fall. One of the funner ones to watch was her (5'1",105lb.) wrestle in the 5 1/2 foot sturgeon from the bank. 45+ min. and she would not take form and one. LIL

BTF, I would go again but not for a couple of years. By then I will have forgotten how bad that first night was. I didn't get sick but I didn't sleep either. Hoof was with me and he slept like a baby.

It was off the WA coast LIL'. We went out of Westport and fished with live anchovies and a #4 bait hook. Those hooks are the size of your pinky fingernail.

Once you make it through the night and start catching the tuna all will be forgotten. The fishing was a riot, I had a rod in each hand with two fish on at the same time!
