Got buzzed a couple of days ago  , so dug out the feeders, and here thy came!!! 
The hummer wars have begun! 
Also, Mrs Killdeer is sitting on 4 eggs out in the driveway. 
Spring has sprung!!

Caveman got "reminded" by a rufous last week, so I put my feeders out also. Just males till yesterday when we finally spotted a female.
A robin has decided this is the place to be and boy is he loud. Gets my cockatiels going and they're driving me nuts all day long.

My hummer never left  ,
but the wife and I got buzzed this last weekend...now where is that feed at???? Whats the ration of water to sugar now....1:1, 2:1???? Boil and cool....let the wars begin.

Don't eatem just enjoy watching....it's the voyer in me....seriousy, I just put out a mix of 3cups to 1 cup sugar....is that about right? Don't want to fluff em soo bad that they can't fly and make that cool buzzin noise in my ear.

I usually start them at a 4 to 1 ratio and work towards 5 to 1 ratio once the bulk of them arrive.

I tried 4:1 but the sugar wouldn't disolve in with sooo little water.....hehehehe.....just kiddin..thanks though.

I gave up on the hummers. When I first moved to this joint my neighbor and I would get 1 loner showing up to our feeders regardless of plantings put out around the yards. After a couple years of that I decided there was no use wasting a good Merlow on that little sucker so I retired the feeder and drink it myself.
