Rod Building get together in Woodland, Wa. new
      #232859 - 02/09/06 06:21 PM

There is going to be a get together for rod builders or those interested in rod building on the 7th, 8th and 9th of April in Woodland, Wa. Lamiglas is hosting the event at their facilities. There will be displays by Batson Enterprises, Pacific Bay and American Tackle and presentation on the following subjects and more: weaving, optics for rod building, marbleizing, feather inlays, characteristics of composites, blank repair and epoxie finishes. We also hope to have classes on rod building for beginners.
There is no charge and everyone is welcome. Last year we had about 100 attend and this year we expect even more so it should be a lot of fun.

We are only a couple of weeks away from our rod building get together in Woodland on the 7th, 8th and 9th of April. Everything has come together very well. There will be presentations on most all of the subjects that of current interest to custom rod builders including marbleizing, handle flocking, guide layout properties of composites, rod repair, epoxies, feather inlays, weaving, optics and magnifiers for rod building, cross wraps and more.
There will be a dinner on Saturday evening and we are asking everyone that it is convenient for them to bring a pot luck dish. We will be having hamburgers and hot dogs so almost any side dish will be fine.

There are only a few days left until our rod building get together in Woodland at Lamiglas. If you are still on the fence and undecided there is still time to send an e-mail to Todd Vivian at [todd@lamiglas.com] and register.

The Northwest rod building event is over but we had such a good time I wish that there were going to be another one next week. Todd Vivian and Lamiglas were great hosts and should be thanked for their hospitality.
At the pot luck dinner on Sat. night I counted about 125 attendees.
American Tackle, Pac Bay, All American and Batson Enterprises had nice displays and gave interesting talks on their products.
Andy Snedden brought several hundred Canadian shrimp that he caught that were great and much different tasting than other shrimp that I have eaten.
Bill Stevens sent us a huge box of his Gut Bombs or Alligator Sausage or whatever he calls them but they were delicious and everyone enjoyed them.
There were a bunch of excellent presentations but I think that Putter's marbleizing may have been the most popular at least until he wanted to start marbleizing all of the bald heads in the group.
Everyone that can should try to keep the first weekend in April open next year because we are definitely going to do it again.
