Nice buck! Don't count the eye gaurds though. 4x4.. I've done some taxidermy work as a hobby. And seen a lot of mounts. This one was done exceptionally well.

Nobody counts eye guards on mulle deer. But they are measured and included in scoring.

Really nobody? Obviously we do. Hey if you want to continue to count them wrong feel free too. But don’t go claiming that were counting them wrong. The score cards will prove that. go get a scoring done and see for your self. They don’t say a 144 7/8 4x4 with eye guards. They say 144 7/8 5x5 Nevada mule deer. Jim W

I shouldn't of used the term "Nobody". I guess it depends on what part of the country you're from. Technically B&C count all points over an inch. But out in the field I've never heard of counting eye guards on mule deer unless they're non-typical.

WTT- I think what Scud was saying is that most westerners don't count the eyeguards when describing a buck to another hunter or person. Most Muley hunters would say "I shot a slick 4x4" (without eyeguards)or "I shot a 4x4 with eye guards". I also score a lot of big game and realize that any thing over 1 inch is considered and scored as a point but when describing a deer to friends and aquaintances it is always without the eye guards added.

Thats how I described him. I thought I had a nice 4X4. I didn't know about the eye guards counting until Jim scored him. All I care about is how nice he looks in my livingroom.
Thanks Jim
