Are you shure that's not a block heater? If it's out, that's the hard part allready done. You may need a new one, the toggle nut that holds it in may be bent beyond repair. If you need one take the old one to the parts store so they can match it up. Don't just get a quick plug, get a heater. You are in Alaska. Fill it back up with at least 50% anti-frezze, 50% water. Wouldn't hurt to put in the block seal, just be shure it will run long enough so it will warm up to circulate it. READ THE INSTUCTIONS ON EVERYTING. You don't want to have to do this twice. Did you get a manual?

Doug welcome to the real world. I suggest you buy a pair of mechanics gloves. They are worth money and do wonders for bleeding knuckles. Without them you be scared. I'm still wondering how a engine block heater can can a no start

it's s.e. alaska, they just got a wal mart a few years ago, that's why it is a great place to be, it's still a little primative. when i was there i never saw a guy rushing down the street wearing a suit and holding a brief case. shopping around never did me alot of good, you are lucky if there is one store that sells the product you are looking for, even more so on pow where i spent most of my time.

Yeah, But that has to be a popular part, there are lots of Chevy pickups in Alaska. The same one should fit about any Chevy pickup from about 1960 to '99. I bet the NAPA in Goldendale has it and we don't have a wally world. Oh SF, he found he had a coolant leak when he went to try to start it again. Hopefully Doug's pickup doesn't have too many more "issuses".

i pulled the drum off the rear brake that has the bad wheel cylinder on it and the shoes were all bad and as soon as i pulled the drum off a part of the shoe fell out and was bent to hell so im going to probably put everything back together and drive it to the shop and have them fix it..
