I finally pulled the trigger on a commuter ride.. I bought a toyota tercel sr5 4x4 wagon
It has 96,000 miles, 1983 with a whopping 1.4liter 4 banger, reported to get 36-37 mpg on the hiway. It has surprising pep for such a little motor. Its not completely mechanically sound but its getting its checkups so I can bring it road trip worthy. Hell I am excited to not be paying 80 bucks a half tank

For awhile I was considering a station wagon for a commuter and fishing rig. One of those 4x4 Toyota wagons would have been awesome but it seemed like they all had over 200k. You really scored with that one. I filled my F150 for $57 tonight.

Well the broken pieces are on the way.. Gotta love the internet. This used car parts site the junk yards put there available parts for sale on. If you have a hard to find part this is the place use the look up tool, use there 800 numbers and make the call. new mirror and light assemblies on the way

I think with all the rain you get, you ought to rhino-line it! Plus door dings are a thing of the past. No annoying rock chips. Shopping carts bounce off. Lots of positives...

i was thinking, you know how when you are getting an ocean caught chinook close to the boat? the colors you see are purple and bronze... or copper, just mix some purple haze in with that copper and you could be driving a custom king. sporting viking colors, just like the chinooks of the salt

one of the rear rims was bent so went in to swap it with the spare... it was cheaper to buy a new tire. 20 bucks lol gotta love the small cars
It got aligned, new tire rods and brakes done.... whohoo
Probably needs a valve adjustment 90k is the recommended time. Mojo I like that idea, wonder if it comes in blue

Marty, Either Rhino or Line-X matches color . Can't remember which. Stay away from red though. Blue fades to light blue. Red fades to pink. (that's what the Yamaha guys tell the Honda guys anyhow)

I got a roof rack too and a new timing belt, front end fix up.. shes rolling strong now. Been thinking of putting a little lift on it so I can run 14" tires with real tread on them. need to find some 4x100 rims on the cheap first.
