Well, we only had four of us out there today. We had two cancelations. Hope they feel better.
3 limits in the first 4 pot set... and left two out for a second try. ACK!!!!! TOO MANY SHRIMP! The last pot had about a limit and a half and we only needed 17.
More pressure at the ramp today, but still not as bad as years past. We were out of the water around 11:30.
Steve and John hope ya'll come back and work hard next year. It was a pleasure sitting on my butt in my own boat.

Nice catches everyone! The two cancellations were my wife and myself....fricken crud that has been going around said no way to going out on the water. Hopefully this saturday will be a different story.
All the years I've shrimped in Hood Canal and I thought I pretty much had the important things nailed down. Nope. No guru here. Learned a new one from Aunty and Caveman. Put your pots in downstream of the crowd. I do believe Aunty has the bait nailed down though. There are 3 essential components to shrimp bait....oil+paste+dry= . Each component also contains scents that work together. The dry cat food dissolves into particulates with attached globules of oil and paste creating a scent rich cloud of attractant downstream of each pot. Dumb me forgot the several seminars by PhD types he has attended regarding crustaceans, their chemosensory ability and their behaviour 20 years ago. The new bait tubes Caveman installed also worked perfectly with the smaller holes....dispersing a bit more than half their content during a 45 minute soak. You want some bait left in the bait tubes for the shrimp that enter your pot.

We keep waiting and hoping. Every year it's the same; "sure wish we could get Marty out here."

The reason is because your karma is all wrong due to your moniker being wrong. It should be;

Bummer dude, it was first time targeting spotted shrimp and it was fun. Maybe next year we can have a shrimp-tilla, looks like you'll have some action closer to home with Big C springer fishing reopening....tight lines, kids are more important anyways...once they get to that age where they are busy and working, going to school...having boy/girlfriends then you'll have some time to do other things. Until then, just enjoy it.....I got two grandsons...jonesing to gettem on the water. A short trip to the lake for planters is in the works...Tight lines

Sounds like some good shrimping! I guess I'll save my Puss'n Boots until next season.

Now that they aren't making Puss'n boots anymore, you might want to auction it on Ebay, starting, in, say mid March.
