Anyone attend what did we miss besides avoiding developing the "want" for more spey stuff, note I did not say the "need" for any more spey stuff.

any one who feels they do not need another rod or reel may as well just quit fishing and stick to watching tv.

Well you missed seeing several of the world's spey jedi's in action. You missed seeing a beautiful steelhead river. You missed a lot of great food. You missed meeting Bill Bakke one of the world's great wild steelhead advocates. You missed seeing lots of great tackle, some of it pretty cutting edge. You missed a chance to win a great Meiser rod without spending a dime. You missed seeing Steve Rajeff cast 250'. You missed seeing some teens that are fantasic spey casters. You missed seeing some kids get a chance to try out casting a two hander. You missed seeing lots of old friends and making many new ones. You missed meeting Mark Bachmann and Patty Barnes and seeing what a great job their group does at putting a smooth running show. You missed a chance to go see Mark and Patty's great shop and you missed seeing me and Mrs. RedShed.

As you folks are aware ... I tried ... unsuccessfully ... to get there. (Best estimate I've heard so far is between 5 and 6K worth of body work).
Did salve my feelings by picking up my new 13-9 7wt from Gary Anderson. New blank design and one of the most wonderful casting rods I've ever held in my hands.

That's a shame, Fred. Hope you came through it well enough. Let us know about the new rod when you get a chance!!

True but also missed more major charges to my debit card. Also couldn't take being on a crowded steelhead river and not being able to fish.
What happened to Evans why was he not in attendance ?

Well there wouldn't have been any major changes to your debit card, at least from buying tackle as there was none for sale at the spey clave. As to the crowded steelhead river, it wasn't. There were however fish to be caught and some were, but very few people were fishing. There was definitely plenty of room to go fishing if one was inclined.

Stu, I was on my way up from Ashland that Friday morning ... got a whole three blocks from my house before a guy (stop signs are an optional thing?) in a GMC 'Suburban' type SUV whacked the hell out of my Jeep Liberty.
Fortunatly he did have insurance, but the bill (authorized the repairs a couple of days ago) will be over $6,200. Anyway, insurance is providing me a rental car, but didn't get that for the better part of a week after the 'crash.'
As Joan was already in Portland ... that took care of the 'second car.'
Sigh ......
