summer mushroom hunting.. what do we want to go hunt for? Would chantrelles be up this early? With all this rain lately something must be coming up.

Some Morels around...I'd expect some Prince mushrooms to be popping up...mainly just seeing amanitas.
A Chantilla later on would be good!

My wife and I have had solme luck finding morels around VBlewitt Pass. We will be loking again next weekend.
Last year when we drove to Alaska we found a burn that was thick with them. We could have taken tons, but we just took enough for a few meals.
We would definately be interested in a shroomtilla.

Picked chanterelles this past weekend. High in quality, but low in quantity. Found enough for two meals. Had to look in knee deep salal for them. Virtually nothing was showing out in the open, with little evidence of previous pickers. Only saw a few other types of mushrooms. Really need rain.

The few I found today were at 3000 feet up the Hamma Hamma...took a lot of looking for a meals worth. Please rain!

Gathered a few shaggies today plus some Zellers Boltes. Scattering of everything out there including Lobsters...just not enough for an all day effort. Evergreen huckleberries lok dismal also.

Mrs Nav picked blackberries enough to make 14 cups of mashed, seeded berries, plus 14 cups (3.5 L) of vodka and 7 cups of sugar.
Am not so patiently waiting until the 4th of Dec, when we can strain and bottle.

I actually prefer the blackberry over the huckleberry, I just couldn't figure out a better way to use the huckleberries.

Back to the topic, I think I found a huge bed of shaggy lepiotas. I did a spore print and all, but am still cautious, as I have not gathered them before. Is there any thing else that might be confused with them? I am using the Savory Wild mushroom book.
