Yesterday (6/27) 1 of our rookies (not Mitch) brought in a 63.8 lbs. king, biggest of the season so far, 5 bottles of Crown and a quick swim by Matt and the party was over! Sorry, only pic before my battery died.
Fishing remains excellent for "cookie cutter" 18-24 lbs. kings, with more 30's and 40's starting to show, my biggest so far has been a couple 40's followed by a few mid to upper 30's including this 1 from a couple weeks ago caught by 1 of our fish cutters on a rare day off, this one went 36.5lbs,

I only got the same photo as Scott. My batteries died too. (we now both have new batts!!!) The 5 crowns were for the other guides. A Crown party on the dock. Matt said the water was cold but very well worth it. The water is running about 54 deg right now. Had a big push of kings show up two days ago, and can't even get down to the halibut, but for "Fish On"!!! Tough, but someone's gotta do it. Hopefully, my swim is coming soon!!

the water is 54? it was 44-46 here in central oregon coast, lots of north wind and upwelling, not fun in my line of work. are you guys fishing west of sumez and baker right now? we were just playing around and started getting kings and halibut out in front of sakie bay on dall, one of my butts went close to 200 lbs on my little 10-20 loomis, alaska is great... keep it up guys.

cool, sounds like you guys are killing them, keep it up, and keep them pics rolling, us normal fisherman never see chinooks of that caliber.
