I used to spend alot of time picking berries when i lived out at Lake Ozette. Seemed as though there was no end to the supply of various blackberries, thimbleberries, and huckleberries. Never cared much for the salmon or selal [sp?] berries. Also lots of old fruit trees available for picking. Used to do alot of canning and baking back then.

Thanks for sharing the pics...brought back good memories.

This was my first pick of the year.. should be good for a gallon or two every three days for most of the month!!! By far my favorite pie/ freezer jam on the planet. I forgot the long pants and long sleeves while picking.. ouch

Patch still producing good at the moment got another gallon today. Only one quart of raspberries so far, hese don't do as well. Time to start picking the cherries(been holding off) tomorrow since they are getting that rich black look to them. Normally the birds get to them before I can wait this long.. so far so good.

Getting purple feet on top of all the wounds from picking nekked sounds too weird, even for Marty.

I was fortunate enough to sample some home made blackberry wine a few years ago that tasted more like shine than wine.
Marty, thankfully the better half and I were there before the festival and didnt see much traffic. In fact once we got west of Port Angeles on 112 we hardly saw another car. Anyway can you believe a festival for Lavender? Had the stuff growing around my house when we moved here. Thought it was a weed and pulled it all out!
