I assume you mean at Uclulet. Party boats, 15-20 folks, jigging lures. I'm not too crazy about it. You can catch fish just not my style. More money but better deal is Island West Marina. I'll be there in two weeks with my own boat. You can also go out in their guideboats, 2-3 people per boat, downriggers. They have package deals. Island West Marina is just a short walk to the South, also has a restaurant. Check it out.http://www.islandwestresort.com/index.htm

I just looked at there site after reading the washington hunting and fishing news article. Little more spendy by over double. We have a group of 15 going up (family and some of my dads co-workers) so we will have our own boat, so it will be cool no strangers. If I had more time and money I would go the other route too I would rather fish downriggers and smaller group also. Let me know how you do I hope we can get some good fish. Butts and Salmon, Never caught a Butt!!! LIL

Good luck! It's all open ocean so a lot of it is weather dependent. Here's the website for marine weather around there.http://www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/marine/marine_e.html?c-wvis

Hey, I'm taking my boat out of Island West starting tomorrow and staying until Friday. If you wander over to Island West, look for a North River Seahawk, Blue trim, with an Ifish salty dog sticker. We can compare fish stories. With this hot weather the ocean has been a bitch. See below. But supposed ro cool down and even predicting 40% chance rain Tues and 70% Wed. Thats the coast, whenever it is hot inland, big north wind and ocean is not really fishable. Rain is better!
Can Princess doesnt usually do the inshore fishery around Wya Point, not enuff room, although I have seen them there now and then.. They go to South Bank, Long Beach Bank, SW corner, Shipwreck or even Big Bank (aka La Peruse Bank) which is 22-25 miles and farther then I want to take my 18' boat.
Forecast: Gale warning continued. Winds northwest 10 to 15 knots with 25 north of Estevan rising to 15 to 25 this evening with northwest 30 to gales 40 developing northwest of Estevan. Areas of low cloud and fog developing overnight. Seas near 2 metres building to 2 to 3 this evening offshore. Outlook. Strong to gale force northwesterly winds rising to gale force then later easing to strong northwesterlies.

The gale warnings were correct. I got back last night. Fished four days and never fished outside. Went out three times but gave it up all three. My 10th trip up there and I've never seen the ocean that bad. Matter of fact I've been fishing the ocean for 30 yrs and I've never seen it so consistently bad. It was blowing 20 at 5AM! Usually the morning is fishable anyway. Some guys went out but it was not fun. We fished Barclay Sound behind the rocks, Crow island, Alley Rock, Great Bear Rock etc., about 5-6 miles from Uke. I got four Chinooks, 25,24,15,12 and a poss limit of Longcod. My buddy got two Chinooks, two silvers and a poss limit of lings. We did OK considering.

Chinooks 2&4, Silvers 2&4, Halies 2&3. The rules vary a bit. For instance, outside, a marked silver has to be released but inside Barclay Sound you can keep it. I assume you are going with a guide so they will know. The difference up there is you can keep 2 silvers day AND 2 Chinooks, not like here where you have to stop at two total.
I suspect the weather will get better since it is cooling down. Hot weather in the interior always means strong NW winds on the salt. You'll probably get a SW wind which can be a rocking chair but usually wont blow you off.
