For you out'o'towners.....
I have virtually unlimited space for boats and rigs,or campers. You would have ready access to facilites.
I also have space for crashing in the house.Probably enough for 4 or 5, if you can bring a cot ,that would help.
My place is about 40 min. from the launch but it's gonna be way better than a motel.Hint...Hint....
We could also hit the Stilly one of the days, which is closer to my place.
Book early with a post or email. bigdog2250@yahoo.com

Flotillas: How They Work...... 1. Someone takes the reigns and picks a place & days.(as Travis did here (catcher1)). 2.Next is Lodging/Camping & Where/options 3.Boat Launches/Parking. 4.Food- Potluck usually, a central place for a barbecue/Deep Fryer (G-man is usually Deep Fryer King) & Aunty M is famous for the organization. 5. Be sure and wear your Steelheader.net hat so we recognize you, If ya don't have one order one from Marty. 6. When the location is decided,; cost of lodging is posted along with phone #'s and maps to the location/motels/camping/launches. 7. Usually need 2-3 people "In Charge of Events" any Volunteers?? Travis is one since he came up with the idea....
So basically the Flotilla is a get-together of people from the board, and usually the other board too (PP), as some members visit both. Used to be a contest between oreos and wassies and biggest/most fish etc. Now is just a fun way to meet people from the board, and a fun time with food and entertainment, occasionally a little too much entertainment....(no comment ) Most of the sled/drift boat owners are very cool and give rides to us bankies. We have not had a North End one yet, this is the first (that I know of), So us locals need to help the travelers into some fishies to the best of our abilities. *zippers are not really that secret on the Sky, for bankies Reiter/Cable Hole is a viable option with the most fish around. ( I know some want to see it that have never been)
Marty........Bummer dude(you can't make it) I wanted a professional spoon tossing lesson
Anyways the sooner we get details I will print some flyers, and put them at a few local tackle shops (If they let me)
*I am looking forward to meeting some new faces, hope you all can make it, the Sky is a good river...all of our local "S" rivers are PS would be cool with one day on the Sky and one on the Snoqualmie(whoever mentioned that), that is a good idea!!

Regarding Sky Flotilla - I don't really know of a good place on the Sky for the type of gathering I would like to attend. You know beer drinking around a campfire with a relatively large group. Wallace Falls State Park has maybe 10 campsites. Trailers are restricted. Another option would be The Campground at Fall City on the Snoqualmie. This is a less restrictive environment than a State Park and more conducive to the type of group we are (or may become.) I might consider bringing the keg . The Snoqualmie is smaller than the Sky, but there are a couple of good drifts. There also is a popular Bank Spot called Tokul Creek and the Big Eddy. Drift boats from Plumb Creek to Fall City or Fall City to (? what the hell is it called) Another good area for Sleds/Drift boat/ Bank Access is the mouth of the Tolt. There is some camping there, too. I think there is an alcohol ban in McConnel Park, so we would have to hide the Keg . All this and the Sky is only 20 Miles or thereabouts North.

Chromeo; You are talking about the area that looks like an ORV Park Right?
That might just fit perfect! Maybe too primitive. Zero Facilities. Good idea though. Is it private property or what?

We need someone with a camping lot @ *Goldbar Nature Trails, then they can set up to rent the cabana area.....and have a community gathering.
*also right next to Reiter
Ever notice them trailers in the woods when you drive into reiter on the left that would be *GNT.

That place could work......
It is probably watched alot at night since......uh....well....you know!!
So it may be broken up If campers are not allowed, I would call the sherriffs and ask em what the deal is there.
Good idea though!!

Gutz-are you thinking of richters? I just had a thought for a rally point.... There is a park accross from the Lewis street launch that has a coverd area. It's not huge(i've never stoped to look, but will now),but may be a dry spot to have a cold/warm one and eat some lunch.

Ill stop by the Golbar sherriff and ask him about reiter pit for camping get together, hes pretty good guy and is probably the one who patrols up there, so he should know. Also were in for whatever we can provide. Also Ill try to get ahold of GNT wayne and see if something could be put together.

catcher1...the competition thing was phased out after the F4 smack drama "Smudged Weigh In".
The experiences since have been a lot more enjoyable give or take a few fire drills.
Fish for fun...the way it should be!

Yknotfish Thanks for all the help dude!!
Up to this point I am unsure of a location for a Potluck myself, I guess where we decide is central after working out the lodging would be best.
Travis Good Job!! dude, keep up the orginization, we are getting good ideas and input, time for you to start making choices, as the ring leader

Reiter Pit has been said to be a good place for the pot luck..Im not sure of what the pit looks like or not but we could give it a shot, the fairgrounds could be another place I guess. I was also thinking of looking into a place to maybe rent out for a couple hours for this potluck. If everyone pitched in a few $$$ we could make that work I am sure.
