I think 30-35lbr is right fishhog. Piggy caught me by surprise-that was my first cast of the morn- fishing for sockeyes and BAM! Fish On! Thing went friggen bizerk-I was like "damn these Socks fight hard man!" Finally the Pig took a turn towards the boat --jumped and we got the hoop under the airtime and got it in the boat--the net broke bringing it in the boat. So, battle wasnt over I punched it in the head, cause we couldnt find the whacker or maybe the hockey instincts kicked in-when we bled the fish it spewed, it was so pumped up. Needless to say so was I. By 10 am we had limits of Socks-then proceeded to go battle Sturgy-hooked Sturgies all day-biggest 7-8ft'r. I will post the pictures. This was 2001-I give full credit to our guide from Fred's -John Nootabus (I think). I would not of started fishing that river going in blind-its a different beast. Without that type of start I would not have the drive or success I do now, dont ya know. So its all good. Our guide was diggin having clients that he didnt have to tie up continually & we brought our own rods-he just sat there chillen with a grin, and we had perma grins-like I dont want this day to end, ya know  Actually, that fish was caught on his rod, which had a spinning reel and my wrist was toast after battle, so I went to my baitcaster.

Ya-we called it at 35ish--I thought we scaled it-The fish has some girth--by the time Im 60years old the fish will be over 70lbs
