Been quiet in the BC forum. Vedder has been putting out some white kings and chum. Coho that are in the system have a case of lockjaw. BRING ON THE RAIN

It's getting to be primetime up there. I love October in the lower Fraser valley. Fish in every waterway (I've seen chums in irrigation ditches up there), trees turning, and big fish on the fly. I wish I was doing the BC trip again this fall.
Throw up some photos please fishog!

I'm hoping to tear loose of the rat race and head up to Vedder Crossing this month, not looking to good at the moment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Just got back from the Vedder. Lots of Kings and chum. Only saw two Coho, luckily one of them was mine. 15 lber. If I would have caught it a day later I would have won a few hundred bucks at our campground Derby. Oh well, one of our camp won for biggest King. That was worth 300 bucks and ANOTHER one of our group got third place King for a total of 500 bucks to split. We were thinking that if we would have won top Coho (600$) that they would kick us Americans out of the Campground. Water is super low but the river still has tons of fish. The Coho are above Vedder crossing (at least the ones that I saw. Can anyone tell me how that river fishies for Steelhead? For the first time in the six years straight going there I started looking at Steelie holding water and WOW that river has alot of it. Would it be worth paying the extra dough for the stamp, instead of driving to the Peninsula umpteen times in the winter???? Anybody......

Nahh, no steel in the Vedder. None at all. Not worth going up. Wouldn't bother.

Went out today. The river is LOADED with Chum and kings. Most are colored, but I did see a couple chrome specimens. She's running low and clear. Sad thing is lots of snagging going on and some pools have dead fish lying in the bottoms. I was using light leader and a single jensen egg to get them to bite. Only foul hooked one fish, or it looked foul hooked but it got off, which was a good thing.

Depends on where you want to fish. I take the Yarrow exit off of HWY 1 when the road T's go right then take an immediate left. That will put you on the south side of the river. The road parallels the river and you end up at Vedder Crossing. You can continue up river from there. I prefer fishing above vedder crossing, less crackers. Weekends are B U S Y !!!
