Trout anyone new

While I love Steelhead and Salmon fishing, trout fishing also brings me great joy. Anyone have some recommended streams pn the West side to recommend. I like spinners, a little rusty with the fly rod.

If you're into catch and release you can't beat the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie, single barbless hook, which works great with spinners, there's lots of cutthroat and I have seen fish up to 18 inches. North and South Forks also good, and I think you can keep 2 over 12 inches (check the regs). Lots of access, get a good map and do a little poking around. Most of the smaller tribs to these rivers also hold fish, if you're into bushwhacking you can find some excellent fishing for smaller trout.

Welcome to the board nemo.

I had the good fortune to float the Green below Flaming Gorge on a couple occassions in the early 70's. What an incredible river and the fishing was out of this world. Have since seen fishing shows highlighting that area.

thanks borntofish.
yeah we are blessed with these great fishes. But i guess the 70's compared to now is really much different. There are a lot of bigger fishes that time. When the river is not yet that full of people.

I just saw the rerun of Roland Martin flyfishing the Green. They were running a big dry fly with a tiny nymph dropper, and hooking up mostly on the nymph. I hope to return to Utah in a few years or so for a fishing trip. Hoping to hit the Provo River, Hobble Creek, a few small ponds in between, and Strawberry Reservoir. I forgot about the Green though- I'll have to find a way to squeeze it in when I go.
