This is a bad year for cheat grass. I was curious if anyone has any advice as to how to keep cheat grass out of a dogs ear while hunting?

When I hunted it seemed every year was a bad cheat year...

I did not try any product or such, but all I could really do is when we were taking a breather sit and pull cheat. At the end of the day brush them real well. Don't forget to pull between the toes as well. I only had one get bad, and that was before I knew how shitty this stuff is in dogs ears and toes. These were golden retreivers so it was a pain. Not as big a pain as cockleburrs though...

I have a shorthair and have never really had trouble but my hunting partner has an english setter and he is getting it all the time. Last week he got some in his ear 5 minutes into the hunt.
