Ok. I know several of the recomendations for fishing Bass throughout ID, Strike, Snake around hells canyon to Lewiston, Swan Lake, etc. What I can never seem to find information on is the area around my home town, Idaho Falls. The one exception is Ririe Res. What I'm curious about is some rumors of bass in the snake around Shelly, Firth and even Gem lake. Not to mention any other water that people have heard of them being pulled from. I'm not looking for specific holes or anything, just a reasonable starting point within 30-60 minutes of town. And yes, I'm aware of the resevoirs around Preston and also the reports around American Falls which is the only solid report I have semi close to home. Any help would be much appreciated.

belasko, I'll have to check my e-mail archives when I get home. I have a friend that used to live over your way, and he was big into bass. I'll see what I can drag up tonight.

This isn't going to help any but I spent 19 years in Idaho Falls and did nothing but fish. I mean everywhere! I did not ever catch a bass NEVER in 19 years. There are not many warmer bodies of water over there and the winters are colder then a stare from my ex wife. Even the Snake is a lot cooler in that area. I'm not saying they are not there but there sure the hell isn't a lot of them. The Southfork of the Snake (hence my name) can produce some enormous trout which you probably already know.

belasko, Milner, Oakley, and Mud lake apparently all have some bass (smallies or LMB). Apparently not many in any of them, and I know it is a trip to a few of the lakes, but there you go. I still have a few feelers out, and I'll report back later if I find something out.
