Went to the local farmers field today with my dad. A nice drake mallard came in and what do you know it was banded. This is my first year for hunting and ive shot over 70 ducks this year and my first banded duck was on the last day of the season.

Dude,
It only took me 26 years to get mine. You must be lucky!  Good job on the drake! You figure out where it was from yet? You can enter the band # on-line and get the data immediately.

i called the number on it today. there sending me the info ill post it when i get it. It says Laurel Md on it so i think it would be from maryland if thats what that means.

Laurel MD is where the the bird band organization is based out of. Mine also said Laurel, but it was from Alberta.

Got my info today. It was banded in Last Lk Alberta. It was Banded 08/06/2003. Hatched in 2002

Cool deal you two...both from Alberta...wonder if that is why we had so many mallards this year...seems like we had more than normal anyway.
