Well great news, the Summer Steelhead run in the Lewis River this year should be nothing short of spectacular..
Just to put things into perspective, in the year 2005 there were 286,763 summer steelhead smolt released into the Lewis River and officials are expecting somewhere around 12-14,000 adults to return for the 2007 Summer. In 2004 there were 223,288 planted for the 2006 return in which we averaged 7 hookups a trip over the 2006 summer season.
For those that would be interested in booking trips for this summer steelhead fishery rates will be discounted from $170 a person to $145 per person for the months of June/July/August. I will be fishing 3-5 anglers per trip and some days will have a deck hand along to assist in fishing.
We'll be side drifting with Gloomis IMX 1141S spinning rods and fishing our Ultimate Egg Cure Eggs and Prawns.
If you'd like to contact me for a trip either do so here on this thread, through my website at www.ultimateguideservice.com or through my email address at stlhdr1@comcast.net
I look forward to fishing with some of you and showing you an experience of a lifetime...
Myself and my deckhand...
Look forward to having some fun!!
Keith

Those are adult steelhead... Nahh, they were Jack Chinook. The group had limited out on steelhead (12 fish) so we switched over to early fall kings and managed to find the 2 adults and 2 jacks...
Our largest summer run last year was 18 pounds though with quite a few 3 salts in the 14-17 range, that should keep ya smiling!!

If Keith had any marketing sense, he'd be posting his latest pig picture. Teens? How about upper 20's and could have been 30+.

You mean this one Aunty?? I'm just not much for braggin', he is a beauty though isn't he. He measured out at 43.87" long by 22.62" in girth which with the steelhead weight forumla puts him at 28.96 pounds....

How are you able to continue fishing when the daily limit of adults has been recorded?

Just amazing the difference from one state to another. For example, once the adult portion of a daily limit is reached, continuing to fish for an adult species is prohibitted in OR.

This is what Washington says:
You may not: Continue to fish for SALMON after the adult portion of the daily limit (freshwater) has been retained, or after the daily limit has been retained for marine waters, except that where a saltwater license is valid each angler aboard a vessel may continue to deploy angling gear or SHELLFISH gear until the daily limit of food fish and shellfish for all licensed and juvenile anglers aboard has been achieved.
It doesn’t address any fish other then Salmon. So you could have a limit of Salmon and still fish for a limit of Bass, Steelhead and Channel Catfish, etc. You just can't keep fishing for Salmon. What I can't find is an answer to the question "Can I fish for game fish (C&R) after I've retained my daily possession limit of that game fish"? Can I C&R Steelhead or Trout after I've kept my legal daily limit?

I think the original question was "who would like to go fishing on a guided fishing trip?"
Sorry about your laws in Oregon but they don't apply here in WA. The picture isn't breaking the law, so what's the deal anyhow?
