Rainshadow XST 1264??Question new
      #281501 - 03/18/07 10:53 PM

I was wanting to make a new float rod. Most likely going to be using it for natives, chums, and washington kings. My question is, does it have enough backbone for larger kings up in BC, such as on the vedder, thompson, or fraser. Just wondering if its got enough power to coax a 40-50lb king out of some fast water? thanks

I would definately use the XST1264, but if i were fishing in a such a spot that 40+lb fish are frequent, i might just Step up a bit and fish with the ISA1265 with a little more backbone, the ISA1266 is also poplar for float fishing big kingers! For all around, I'd use the 1264 for float fishing any kings, it'll handle, i caught fish up to 35+ lbs on my 1264 in alaska no problem!

You definitely need the XST1264 in your arsenal for around here.

Targeting huge Kings the XST1264 will work but you may consider like Chris said the IST1265 and ISA1266 at the very least you will have a few good mooching rods.

I'm not talking alaska big kings, but kings on the vedder can go pretty big. The 1264 will be enough for big chums though right? Mainly going to be used for big sauk natives, chums and skagit/sky kings.
