      #281887 - 03/22/07 03:52 PM

Potomac I saw an osprey with a snack today

Maybe another week and it's gonna be great for rocks and TH's second favorite fish lmb. It's about that time to visit Fletcher's boathouse... + clams, crawlers, mullet or bunker and the of the east-bloodworms(expensive lil buggers)

You ain't kidding about the the bloodworms. While my cousin was in the Whitehouse I visited several times staying at his place on the Chesapeake. Couldn't get to the bait vending machines fast enough (something else I'd never seen).

Used them for croakers and some sort of perch, can't remember exactly.. But those croakers were the funniest things. The name is no lie. Sure was fun though, multiple hook rigs... Small but good on the Q.

bait machines are BIG and big $$ around here

I'm trying out my chicken parts and garlic oil recipe on 'em as soon as the water gets right.

No fair, I've got to wait several more weeks. Shadtilla 07 is coming up. I've got about 100 darts painted up so far.

who says it's not fair

At least you have a native winter run (or twenty) to pursue during the winter.

I got to watch North to Alaska all winter...

Well I went down to 'pebble beach' and gave it a go last night for a bit. Good news! Rocks are in!

Was standing next to a guy who had a flat of bloodworms from Mass. and I traded a few beers for a dozen, good trade I think

We had quite a flurry for about 45 minutes, as 11 came to hand between us. Nothing too large, 16-22" all males but at least they were rocks. Maybe in another week or two the females will show.

Good to hear your catching something. I think I know what rocks are but could you tell us what the correct name is? How about a couple of pics?

They are scrappers when they get above 28 to 30", but the smaller males we caught last night don't have too much chance against 9 to 11' surf rods with 20#.

When the females show up above Key Bridge in the deep fast channels they can be a serious contender, even on 8' rods with a 6501 and 30#.
