There are already some around over here in the Puget Sound area. Someone my dad knows found some recently. I've heard they aren't true morels over here, but I don't know. I hate mushrooms.

Long gone Might try a higher altitude, where the cottonwoods are just starting to show a tinge of green. I don't have time to go exploring now.

Picked 20 5 Gallon buckets full in 2 days, gotta love the burns. It only cost me a pair of pants that my wife refused to wash.

That's a pretty good take based on the market value. Local TV station had a news clip on this activity the other night. Forest Service is a bit overwhelmed by the turnout of pickers up in the Warm Lake area. Having to develop additional camping space and managing the activity with an Incident Management Team. Those burn areas from last year are apparently putting out a bumper crop of mushrooms. One of the commercial pickers came from Texas for the action. The news people mentioned a limit of 5 gallons per person for personal consumption. I was wondering if there was any established limit for the commercials?

BTF- I heard warm lake was a zoo as well. We went to Council because a log cutter I know is on a job where authorized vehicles are only allowed, jumped in his work rig and picked. I think it is 5 gallons a day for personel use, after that you have to buy a permit, just like for wood cutting. I don't think there is a cap on the ammount, you just buy more permits. We hardly ever sell them, they are more of a trading material.
