Situk in Yakutat....Awesome!!
      #287733 - 05/02/07 07:56 PM

SH fishing in the Situk river is fantastic, and the locals claim the fishing this year is SLOW. Man if they think that river is slow they need to fish in Wa. for a couple of weeks. No halibut fishing for me as seas were 12 to 15 ft. swells topped with wind waves and our Capt., Tim, said nope to that. Excellent food and lodging at Glacier Bear Lodge, I'd recommend them to anyone thinking about heading up that way. Bill

The Situk is on my "to do" list. Hopefully next year will be my year.

I fished the Situk the end of May (25-27) - river was loaded and brite fish still below the weir and coming up river. It was an awesome experience - 15 fish days are hard to beat! 3 drift boats on 14 miles of river.
