Wife and I hit the Westport blue for our first pacific ocean butt trip.....wife puked with in 30 minutes and at least a half dozen times after that.....16 fishermen/women, all limits plus the crew of 3...19 fish, ranging from I'd say 15 to a confirmed 62(last fish)...had a great time, water was rough, a few pukers..mostly good times getting to know some fellow fishermen from another board..Screwjack and USCG & friend....a fellow sh.net bud (Trouthead) that I didn't know was going to be aboard with his pops....deckhands were cool as was the El Capitan!....thanks for the fresh butt Don! Yummmy!
End of story is my wife fished for about 10 minutes...I set the bait to the bottom, woke her up to fish and within minutes, she's got a FISHON! about 2/3 of the way thru the 600 feet of depth she want's a break...I bring the fishie to the point of seeing something....last part was hers pulling the fish to the top for the gaffing.....I would say 40 - 45lbs.....her first....I was so proud! I'll post a pic later if she doesnt have puke down her raingear, haha! Great trip!

cool, looks like fun, i always love the snotty weather hali trips, i have worked my share, i do kinda feel bad for the ones who lose their breakfast on the way out, gonna be a long day. i remember trips where there was too much spray on the way out where the sickies couldn't go outside, i told them to just use the trash can, i would take care of it. the scene is etched in my mind with three heads all trying to fit in a small garbage can while i was sitting on the galley sink trying not to laugh at their misfortune, we did get em though.

good for you and your wife john....i can feel her pain. my first charter ever, also out of westport several years ago, i dry heaved the last 6 hours of the full day trip...but i managed to tag out on salmon before getting in the line of chummers.

nice, some hali and chips are in your future I see. Bummer about your wife gettin sick, that's not fun.
