We'll see Whatcom's new
      #287975 - 05/04/07 09:10 AM

So instead of going out to Lake Washington for opening day boating, I'm gonnna do the opposite and head up to Whatcom and try and get me some smallies tomorrow. I know it's a huge lake, and I've never fished it before. I'm just wondering if there are any general areas that are better than others, no zippers, maybe just a good portion of the lake to try, or to stay away from. PM me if you want...Thanks in advance for the tips.

Looks like you were on the North end? That would be the best area. Nothing bedding yet?

Yep - got her on the north end (only smallie of the day too). I didn't see any fish bedding, but most of the day it was too choppy to get a good look. Texas-rigged creature bait brought her to the boat. Probably 5 or so fellow bassholes out there - didn't see any other bass caught

Whatcom rules! i've always done good on smoke hula grubs around the docks, or drop shottin' the beds. Try smammmish this week. We hit 10 in 4 hrs friday morning. Lots of beds the only hard part was finding fish on them. Gotta love those smallies.
