By emergency order from the AK Dept. of Fish and Game, the Halibut restrictions have changed for area 2C. Today we were informed by one of the local Troopers that the Halibut restrictions will now be: 2 Halibut a day, 1 any size and 1 must be UNDER 32". This goes for non-residents and guided residents and goes into effect June 1'st. Will post any new changes if any come out.

This info has been talked about going into effect for quite awhile now. Yesterday, we received the phone call from one of the local ADFG Troopers based out of Klawock informing us that it had indeed gone into effect. As for going on the ADFG website, give it a few. As for IPHC, this is being done via ADFG. If you remember, if it was up to IPHC they would have dropped the limit to one a day. Then the Secretary of State vetoed that ruling and gave the state the power to make the new restrictions not IPHC. Just relaying info that came to us directly from our local Trooper. Scott

"but may be superseded by charter halibut fishing management measures currently being considered by the North Pacific Fishery Management Council".
Scott, any ideas what they mean by that, what else might they be considering?

Not positive, but this probably has been put in so, if need be, the NPFMC can change this regulation later if neccessary.
