I've been condsidering putting some braided line on my spinning rod that I use for steelhead and some monster browns on the S. Fork of the Snake. Most of the people I've talked to only use it on baitcasters. Has anyone tried it on spinning reels? And if so what plusses and minuses have you run into? Any help would be nice.

I have used it for steelies on the Salmon and it did ok. However it does not seem to always feed back on right and will start to hang up and not allow you to cast that well. But maybe others have had better success. I would stick with the mono.

I've used it for years on spinning rods. Works great, as long as you make sure there is always tension on the line when it is put back on the reel.

I've used powerpro and fireline on spinning gear and find fireline works better for me. I've use it from the NW to MidWest down to the Gulf of Mexico for redfish. Fireling will fray and turn white over time so I just back wind it to a xtra spool and the other end is new. WFFF
