Duane and I and the others have worked very hard for 3 years on the conservation side of the plan and year after year the department wants to side with the tribes and commercials. We need to get our plan that we wrote up ratified by the commission and them maybe it will ahve some teeth. But as it stands now Ron, Phil and the other top officials in the Dept can just blow us off.
You think your frustrated, walk in our shoes ##deleted## !!! and spend the time we do trying to make it better for all of us sportsmen, I gurantee you could not !!!

I suspect holding a derby targeting those chinook is the answer.

WDFW, the Quinalts and the non tribal Grays harbor gill netters will likely be all in favor of such a derby as it will kill any credibility that the Grays Harbor sportfishing group has in regards to protective measures for the depressed chinook stock in the Chehalis system. Duane and Doug no need to e-mail me anymore for suggestions on how to help save these fish. They are dead.

Gooose, I don't think UEC and Rainshadow realize what's going on. Todd's MIA. I wonder what he's going to think?

WOW,, after reading the thread on the other board, I too can NO LONGER support any of the guides and sponsors as well as our task force who is supposed to protect our fish in the basin for us when they want to have a catch and kill tourney with proceeds going to themselves?? Isn't this like the fox raiding the henhouse he was hired to protect??? The commitee needs to get a grip, so does the WDF& W and just say no to killing our Kings in the Basin. We are in serious trouble here......So much for the task force saving the resource,,,,,, nice job!!!!

Well this is completely nuts. The first I heard about this thing was at the Tilla. I need to make a few phone calls tomorrow and see what the heck is going on. To this date no one has contacted me, so I guess I had better do my homework...

I'm suspicious as all get out, and I think we need to be real cautious here. You all know Joe. The dude would have an embolism if people were out there smacking those wild chinook in the head and killing them. I also note that Francis and Todd seem to be condoning this. Now how likely is THAT? Not very.

I don't know what scheme they've got going, but I doubt this tournament will include killing the very thing they want to protect.

Joe, buddy, I might have sniffed that bait, but I ain't biting it.

So far I can't recall posting anything whatsoever about this tournament here or on any other BB...I'm in Montana, and on my way to Wisconsin, and haven't even been in town for two weeks...

Too late Todd. Already worked it out with Fly.

No fishing...work...being all over the country without fishing much in the summer is how I get two months of steelhead fishing in March and April.

The weather here is nicer than in Seattle this week...upper 70's, lower 80's, no thunderstorms, and fairly low humidity.

Two years ago I was in Ann Arbor when it was 106 degrees and thunderstorming every afternoon when the temp dropped below 100...100% humidity and 99 degrees, raining like a MF'r, with thunder and lightning.

That was fun for about six seconds, then sucked for six days. At least the lightning bugs are cool in the evening when the rain stops.

I'll be in Kalispell, MT, next week, and it's been 100, 105 degrees there recently.

Fish on...

Todd
