Humpy Hollow, Sunday 8-5
      #297120 - 08/06/07 07:28 AM

We fished Sunday morning from 6am until noon. We caught 3 humpies using the usual 11" white flasher w/pink squid. All 3 fish were hooked near 60' trolling against the tide.

It is early, but there are at least a few fish around. We saw 8 fish caught on nearby boats. I never did mark any schools on the finder. We talked with the fish checker on our way out and she had only checked a few pinks.
Sea jellies were thick this morning, and we spent a lot of time cleaning them off the gear. This is the first time I've run across large sea jellies, but I assume it's necessary to keep them off the gear.

I've always fished Pinks at Humpy Hollow using the usual stuff. This year I thought I'd try launching at Everett going up river to where the river takes a sharp turn to the east near Lowell. Anchor up and try a pink spin n glo and a sand shrimp. I used to bank plunk doing that upriver from Snohomish and I also anchored on the Skagit for Humpys and did well both ways. Anybody ever try that on the Sno?

Somtimes I get tired of towing the DRs around. Fishing on the hook is kind of nice for change.

There are a lot of Pinks coming. Last week at Ucluelet, they got to be a nuisance when you're after chinooks.

I've fished plugs on anchor in the Sky, but not Snohomish. I've also picked up Pinks on deep sixs with a pink spoon behind it in the Salt.

Probably a jetdiver with a dick nite behind it would work on anchor although I haven't tried it...yet!
