Pautzke article in STS this month:
      #297735 - 08/13/07 09:03 AM

Anyone see the article?

Pretty amazing history there. Something like 83 million jars of eggs sold. Man, they are almost up there with McDonald's!!!

Anyhow, I cannot count the jars of "green label" eggs I have used in my life! I tested them side by side against all other brands and the Pautzke's outfished every brand by a wide margin.

Anyone else use the Pautzke's the way we did?

I was pretty good friends with the son of the owner of Cossack Bait co. in high school. He gave me all the bait I wanted, but I'd still buy the Pautzke's eggs.

Jars and jars and jars and jars of Pautzke's. I consumed almost as many jars of Mike's Cheese Eggs.

They were my go-to bait for trout when I first started out fishing many years ago. Great story btw. Always nice to see American success stories in the sport you love.

Couldn't beat a nice marshmello/Pautskes combo on trout! However, my jars were usually only good for a day as they always cooked in the Yakima sunshine. (I was young)

Yeah I used to love those Pautzkes, until Power Bait came out. Still like to use them in a maggot cocktail for kokanee.

I can remember using cheese marshmellows and green label pautzkes and slaying the trout. Then power bait came out and it seems like Pautzkes does not even compare anymore.
