I am heading over to Hood Canal this evening and will be looking to fish from the beach Fri-Sun. Has anyone been fishing either spot this week?
Also, is there anyplace where I could fish from the shore for kings where it is open further south? Thanks.

It can be combat fishing so be prepaired. I drove by Salisbury in the AM and PM the other day when I went out to Forks. I had planned on fishing it from shore on teh way back. I did not even drive to the ramp. From teh bridge, I could see the crowd on the dock and the beach covered.
I foundly remember the days when you MIGHT run into a person or two fishing there from shore. One of my favorite launches. They were catching salmon, and keeping some illegal fish, the other day. Floating hearing was producing very well.
Good luck!

You can try for kings off the beach at Lilliwaup. The hatchery at Hoodsport should also have them on the incoming tide. Ditto what Joker said about Salsbury. Silvers are in Quilcene Bay so fishing at the mouth of the Quil should be good or you can try off the shore at the Shellfish Lab in Brinnon.
