Two more hunters in the field! new
      #298867 - 08/23/07 02:22 PM

My boys both completed and passed their hunter education classes today! My oldest boy Hunter missed one, and I didn't get Ryan's score, but I was assured that he had passed as well. I was confident that Hunter would pass with ease, being that he is 11 years old and a great student.

Ryan is 8, and while he is also an honor student, I was concerned that some of the ideas and content might be over his head. He wanted to take the class because that's what his big brother was doing so I figured the worst thing he would do is learn some of the info and maybe get his feelings hurt by not passing the test. It is one of those situations where I am happy to be proved wrong.

I plan on taking Hunter and Ryan on a grouse hunting trip in September with only one gun between us to keep things safe. I sure hope that 20 gauge gets a work-out. Maybe I need to buy a .410 instead?

Excellent news! It is going to be one special hunting season! I am looking forward to being able to take my little one one of these days, but being that he's only 3 months, it's going to be a while!

Right on! After testing Hunters brain for at least an hour on the boat there was no question in my mind that he could pass a hunters safety course...As for Ryan, his intelligence is not in question but getting him to sit still long enough is a a major accomplishment.

These are two fine young men and I am certain will do the hunting world proud as the grow into the sport.

Anytime you want to shoot clays let me know and we can shoot as many as the shoulders can handle down at the farm...open invite.

Great news, good to see youngins involved in the outdoors, especially hunting related.

Get the 410, it will be so much fun for them

Congrats to the boys. I got my son a Benelli nova 20ga. youth model. It's a sweet little gun.
Here's proof it works
