fished Sekiu this morning. Got there before the buttcrack of dawn. On the water putting around working our way out of the bay in the dark and rigging up with a cell phone light. Gear in the water by 5:30 AM. First fish hooked by 5:45 or so. All in all, by the end of the day, and this is no joke, we had caught and released over fifty fish, not counting the ones that we long distance released. We had over a hundred takedowns. Freaking awesome day. Now the bad news. Out of all those fish we only were able to keep two. Hatchery silvers. I released five other Kings. God knows how many Pinks and about 20-25 Native Silvers. The most successful failure day of fishing.

Very fun anyway!!! Dogfish has been having similar results with few more keepers, but huge numbers of the natives/pinks to. Look for his report in a day or so when he gets back (I been getting cell phone updates ).

Sounds like an awesome Sekiu day. My Dad and other family and friends are going to fish Sekiu the next 3 days. I'm sure they will have some fun as well. I'm at home working this weekend but I sure wish I could be up there. Our past 3 trips have been insane this year, and we have a whole month to go. Sweet report Dustin

Sounds like things could really be hot for the tilla this year. In another week or so B_Run and NoLuckDan will be headed over from the "dryside" for 2 weeks of fishing. They'll be camping at Olson's, in the area overlooking the marina.

Yes they will! Look for the Hillbilly looking camper with the palletized porch and awning, and Idaho Plates . B-Run has been having some computer issues, but still gets online every once in a while. He'll be in a 17' Alumaweld with Idaho boat numbers. Say hi if you see 'em.
