ok so my dad is looking for a sled that we can take on the ocean and the local rivers...
my question...
what are good spots for bottom fishing on the southern half of the oregon coast for a typical sled??
and salmon too

and what do you use for each???

IMHO sleds and Ocean fishing dont mix well. Something about seaweed in the grates is a real downer. Some do it as have I but I can't recomend it. That said about any windsheild sled 18' or larger and be picky about weather on Ocean days. I dont know much about Oregon bottom fihing.

I'd ask the location question on the Salty Dogs forum on ifish. In general, bottom fishing is pretty easy. Look at a decent map and search for structure on it, or just drift and work your jigs/bait near the bottom. I'd also consider a prop. You'll find that there is much more consistent opportunity in Saltwater compared to fishing the rivers.
