Coho Derby
      #302505 - 09/20/07 02:20 PM

Anyone thinking about hitting up the Everett Coho Derby this weekend? 25 bucks to enter seems pretty reasonable.

Anyone ever done it before? Is it more crowded than it's worth?

Cheers!

More than it is worth? For me, yes. You should consider the Sekiu tilla instead.

Man, I would love to go the tilla, but Saturday is my only open day this weekend. So I take it it's pretty bad than? Hmm, maybe I'll reconsider.

I remember last year I read there were 3000 and some entrants. Doing the math, 2 or 3 to a boat means somewhere north of 1000 boats! Lots of company.

If you can hit it in the week there are lots of fish and less traffic. My dad and I hit it this morning, the Everett Marina was less than half full. We fished between 730 and 12 with 4 takers, 11# the largest, 6# the smallest.

Some day I won't have to work during the week. Until then though, I'm pretty much locked in to heading out with the rest of the working stiffs on the weekends. Unless of course I get, "sick." Actually, cough-cough, I think I feel a cold coming on right now.

bacota, generally speaking, you need to be sick earlier in the AM.
