Leica Range finder new
      #273937 - 01/14/07 01:27 PM

I'm going to have to opportunity to buy a Leica 1200 laser range finder. Do any of you have a Leica? Have you used one in the field? Did you like it?
What range finders do you have?
Right now I have an older Bushnell 500 and rarly will I pick up "anything" past 290 yards. I have to range what I can see then walk out, take another shot and add the yardages till I get where I want the yardage I want to find.
I think this is the one I want but want to check with you guys first.
We can get some long shots where we hunt with not a lot of structure. Both on deer and prairie dogs.

I have a Bushnell Legend. I mainly hunt Wa., with a ML 90% of the time so I didn't see any need to spend any more than what I did. Mine performs very well at 10 to 400 yards, I am very happy with it. Bill

one of my hunting partners is all Leica. Spotting scope, bino's and range finder. He uses a shepherd scope. But he says Leica are the best and he should know. He is an optometrist.

one of my co-workers just bought a Leica. We field tested it at known yardages out to 1000 yards and wa amazed at the accuracy. We were only getting 1-2 yard deviations out at that distance.
Go ahead and buy it, you won't regret it judging by your pics.

Thanks,
I ended up ordering the CRL 900 Leica range finder. Just didn't know what I would want to shoot at 1200 yards away.
Chase needs accurate yardage for anchoring his big bucks and picking off prairie dogs at 3 and 400 yards! I'm hoping he let's me shoot sometimes.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier Tally, but you will love that range finder. Leica products are top of the line as you know. I had the CRF 1200 and loved it but then switched to a 10x42 BRF that has the range finder and bino together and they are awesome. One less thing to pack on those back country hunts.

That's the range finder that I have and I love it... Very, very accurate.

It's on back order from Cabelas. Looks like I chose the right one. Thanks Keith.

I got my Leica range finder from Cabelas the other day....
I wish this model had come out sooner because I sure wasted my money on my $300 Bushnell. The bush had a range of 500 yards and would not pick up anything past 250 and that had to be the side of a barn!!
I stepped out the front door with the new Leica, the furthest thing away I could see was the top of a maple tree with no leaves. I now know that tree is 650 yards from my front door!!!
It's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.
If you're in the market, save your penneys and buy Leica.
