I forgot to ask my brother how much ammo was expended.  It's been over a decade since I hunted this spot but I still fondly remember moments when as one flock we just blasted was leaving watching another flock coming in to land and as quietly as possible asking the cousins in the adjacent blind to toss me some more ammo. Best memory was when my father decided all 9 of us were gonna hunt the same 1 acre pond. Somewhere between 40 to 50 mallards( we didn't count other birds that year but there were a few other species blasted that day) by noon he stood up and yelled at us boys to pick em up for the day.  The one dog we had was a tired puppy and the amount of ammo expended was beyond belief. 148 mallards in 4 days was the record for that year.
